Born from countless local and international adventures, Luke Ellise, the founder, turned his insider knowledge and pandemic-induced explorations into a tech-savvy solution for travelers.
With the Take A Local app, tourists can journey through Tasmania on their own terms, uncovering hidden gems and storied paths between A and B, all while keeping the spirit of discovery alive. While Luke had a vision of turning this idea to reality, he turned to Bodhi for our technical skills and know-how to bring this brilliant idea to life.
In the burgeoning landscape of travel tech, a first-time founder, Luke Ellis envisioned a unique concept — a self-guided audio tour app, that seamlessly integrates GPS technology to enhance the user experience, both online and offline. His vision was clear: an application that provided turn-by-turn directions, captivating stories, and curated music, all automatically synced with the user’s journey.
However, Luke faced a common challenge for many startups: he had a groundbreaking idea but didn’t know where to begin the technical implementation. The app continuously calibrated GPS for accuracy, resulting in a seamless exploration experience.
My biggest challenge was my lack of knowledge. I felt I had a great idea but I didn’t know what I needed to do to bring it to life. I didn’t know who I was looking for.
